Biodiversity survey — coastal Ise-Shima
Field-based research spanning the Toba City Marine Red Data Book 2023 — planning, coordination, field surveys, and writing (429 species; Japan's first marine RDB) — coastal biodiversity monitoring, offshore wind farm baseline surveys, survey-vessel chartering, environmental assessment surveys, and participation in policy recommendations on integrated coastal management within Japan's Basic Plan on Ocean Policy.
From a base in the sea of Ise-Shima, I carry out research that combines on-site observation with scientific methods.
Toba City Marine Red Data Book 2023
I was involved in producing Japan’s first Red Data Book devoted to marine life. It records 429 species and systematically documents the current state of biodiversity in the coastal waters of Ise-Shima.

Engagement with policy & measures
Alongside baseline surveys for offshore wind and vessel chartering for surveys, I have taken part in policy recommendations on integrated coastal management within Japan’s Basic Plan on Ocean Policy. I value connecting knowledge from the field to policy.
