Building it together
Turning one person's work — surveys, records, tools, education — into a shared project. We are preparing ways to welcome both funding and people who want to take part.
We are preparing to grow Zakko CLUB’s work from one person’s hands into “a project we build together.” From here, we will seek both the funding to continue surveys, records, tool-making and education at sea, and companions — people — to work alongside us.
Things I hope to put into practice one day
Practicing ocean learning
- Building a hub for ocean learning (a place for everyone to gather, and a counterpart to national efforts)
- Restoring the Furutaka-maru (replacing the engine and drive — passing on the craft of making and mending, as a formative experience in ingenuity)
- Conserving seagrass beds and providing for Serena, the dugong at Toba Aquarium (conservation through use)
Others
- Building a hub in the hills (using about 1,650 m² / 0.4 acres of mountain forest to make the hills a little richer, too)
- Training hunters (practice that also fosters successors in hunting)
